October 19th, 2013 - Jared Landers concluded the 2013 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) campaign over the weekend with a trip to Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth, Ohio) for the 33rd Annual Dirt Track World Championship at the 3/8 mile oval.
Seventy-nine entries passed through the gates for the crown jewel program, and time trial action on Friday night positioned Landers starting 4th on the grid in his heat race. With the top four finishers transferring to the feature Jared ran in the 4th position throughout the heat, and that's where he crossed the finish line, which relegated him to a b-main on Saturday night, where he started in the 2nd position.
In the consolation event Landers failed to earn a transfer spot as he was forced to utilize a series provisional to start the 100 lap finale in the 26th position. Landers picked off a few spots early in the event before slowing with issues on lap 21. He rejoined the tail of the field before rebounding to a 16th place finish.
Jared finished 8th in the final LOLMDS standings. Full results from the events as well as the final series' standings are available at www.LucasDirt.com

He would go on to retire early in the event to a 23rd place finish.
On Sunday night the action was slated to shift to Rome Speedway (Rome, Georgia), but Mother Nature forced the event to be canceled.
