September 16th, 2017 - Aboard the Larry Moring-owned #1777 Super Late Model, Jared Landers headed to Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa) on Thursday for the opening night of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Knoxville Nationals. Following the fifth fastest time in his qualifying group, Landers recorded a 3rd place finish in his heat locking his spot into the $7,000-to-win opening night feature. Rolling off on the pole, Jared overtook Kyle Bronson on the second lap and led for 11 circuits until surrendering the top spot to Don O’Neal. On Friday night for another round of preliminary action, Jared timed in fourth fastest in his qualifying group before recording a 3rd place finish in his heat race. Rolling off 3rd for the feature, Jared suffered a flat-tire on lap 18 that brought out a caution. Rejoining the field from the tail, Landers rallied his way up to a 17th place outing in the remaining eight circuits.

Wrapping up the 14th annual Knoxville Nationals on Saturday evening, Landers had already secured his spot into the $40,000-to-win A-Main after coming in seventh in total points from Thursday and Friday night. Starting in 7th, Jared improved four positions in the 100-lap affair registering a 3rd place finish behind Mike Marlar and Jonathan Davenport with Jimmy Mars and Jimmy Owens completing the Top 5 finishers.
